Artist Statement
My copper plate etchings are mainly subjects from nature. I enjoy the challenge that birds, animals and insects present when trying to convey a detailed sense of feathers, fur or exoskeletons. My focus is strictly on the subjects, so often I present them in solitude to emphasize their individual character and essence. I hope that my etchings are a small reminder of the elegant harmony in nature.

Through printmaking, I also like to explore abstracts. Abstracts allow me to expand my range of expression and enable me to experiment with new techniques. Some are etched on copper plates, while others are created on plexiglass or a heavy paper matrix; occasionally I will even combine these methods for a single print.

All of my prints are hand-pulled on a manual printing press, and offered in small, limited editions.
