Artist Statement
US From pure shape to rhythmic structure, that's my thing. No-frill bodies and lines on staggered planes play together and with air and light in between. The invisible and the viewer's perspective drive the suspense. Wind and water, rising and suspending are the themes that I reduce to the geometric and architectural basics and stylize to drama. And then there is still coincidence playing it's role, the moment, the mood, a look, a find. The blue of the sky, too.
D Aus purer Form wird rhythmische Struktur, das ist mein Ding. Schoerkellose Flaechen und Linien spielen auf gestaffelten Ebenen miteinander und mit LIcht und Luft dazwischen. Das Unsichtbare und die Perspektive des Betrachters treiben die Spannung. Wind und Wasser, Aufsteigendes und Herabhaengendes sind die Themen, die ich auf das Geometrische, das Architektonische reduziere und zum graphischen Drama stilisiere. Und dann spielt auch der Zufall eine Rolle, der Moment, die Laune, ein Blick, ein Fund. Das Blau des Himmels auch.
