Artist Statement
The shapes and forms I hammer, weld, carve and cast develop perceptually. One grows from the suggestion of another as I pursue the properties of several different materials. My inspiration derives from my love of the forms in nature but are not interpreted with any desire to imitate.

I have been working most recently in combinations of moldable plastic, wood and copper. My explorations in combining various materials have investigated properties of kiln-formed glass as well as clay, steel, aluminum and stone. The forms I create combine both volumetric and linear elements.
