Artist Statement
My recent work is concerned with acts of selective preservation in response to forces of change. In this investigation, architectural and figurative subjects reveal their structural arrangements as being dynamic, layered and malleable. Each sculpture's hybrid morphology stems from inherent contradictions among various agendas for organizing material form, and the perpetual tension that exists between past, present, and future development.

Through lack of gravity, appropriate scale or context, the functions of these familiar archetypes are called into question. Is their genesis constructed or organic? Is their presence monumental or miniature, historical or foretelling? Is their transformation adaptive or succumbing?
