Artist Statement
Sometimes it seems easier to let the painting start and end by itself. Let the brush swirl around, the color go this way and that. A little or a lot. At some point I do try to wrestle control over the thing. Not that I'm strong enough to enforce my will on anything, but sometimes I try. The lines are fleeting or sharp then. But my paint seems to work best when it works on its own. I am simply there to stretch canvas, turn the lights on and off, and clean the brushes for the next try. I am thankful to be allowed to be a small part of the process really.
