Artist Statement
KELLEY KAPP
I am now on my 3rd series of drawings done in Blanc Conte' pencil and graphite on 100% cotton Fabriano paper. I call them Post Apocalyptic but when taken out of the au courant context they are really sci-fi. Actually, some are the apocalypse in progress. So it seems that this body of work will inevitably be organized differently as it evolves and weathers. The iconography in these works is informed by my painting, collages and sketches of the past 4 years and also evident in my assemblage, "Hybrid".
"Fresh Daily" since 2006 is actually a deli counter with "Foude Art." I am expanding the menu. It is my ode to Claus Oldenburg.
