Artist Statement
I view art as the individual expression during the process of getting from a blank ground to a finished work of art. The finished piece is not the final destination however. There is another voyage of going once again from the start to the finished. Hopefully during this process, as in life, what is experienced and learned in the initial process is carried forward into the next journey. This being so, the finished product is really never the end result. It is only an experience to be applied to the next voyage, eliminating what did not work and carrying forward that which did. When I apply this philosophy to my painting, each painting hopefully becomes a springboard for the next.

Artist Bio
Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, Kevin discovered at an early age his affinity for visual mediums. On a trip to the Museum of fine Arts with his cub scout pack, he became immediately impressed with John Singleton Copely's portrait of the silver smith Paul Revere. Inspired by this, he descended upon the local Library for information and study, on how to draw and paint. He persisted in drawing and painting through-out his adolescent years
After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force he continued to draw and paint. The Air Force, after determining that he had an aptitude for language, sent him to Indiana University to study Russian. This eventually led to a 2 year tour of duty in Crete, Greece. While there Kevin headed to London on leave. It was there that he discovered the works of Joseph Mallord William Turner in the National Gallery. " I was totally blown away by Turners use of light and color, it was if I were seeing for the first time."
Upon Returning to the United States after his discharge from the military, he hitch hiked around the country for several years before settling down on the North Shore of Boston. While working as a flight instructor at the Beverly airport, he made a chance discovery of Montserrat Art School. He enrolled and during the next several years became consumed with the creative process. Encouraged by his mentor, Alfred Czerepak, Kevin moved to Gloucester. There he became a member of the Rockport Art Association and began exhibiting his art work. Kevin has been painting and exhibiting his art work through out New England ever since.
