Artist Statement
MELL BOESCH I Designer I Printmaker since 2006
Develop Inventive processes that forge into NEW paths of Experimentation:
Wax paper embossments
Colored pencil Rubbings
Newspaper transfers
Highlighters
__Being an innovator, I use flexible plastic instead of using the traditional single rectangular Plexiglas plate. Different shapes and patterns are cut from this plastic.
__Usually between 2-10 shaped plates are laid down on the press bed and printed per single pass of the press. Hand-printed stamps are also used.
__In addition to these plastic plates, I use ordinary household objects: BBQ grill sheets, Poker chips, 2'x4' Pegboard, Fly swatters, Laundry baskets, Restaurant floor mats, etc.
__Being an Inventor, I developed a formula that releases the acrylic paint from the many surfaces that I am painting.
__Color and Design are a dominant feature of my work, as well as the building up of the selected "Process" layers
