Artist Statement
My work is an ongoing process involving different genres from representational to the abstract. I am continually experimenting with mediums and methods, work instinctually, and I am always surprised at the finished piece. What motivates me is pushing the envelope, taking risks in these multi-layered collages. I love injecting visuals and textures that beckon my viewers to get close.
I utilize mediums, acrylics, gouache, inks, oil sticks and pastels, married to textiles and ephemera made, found, and collected. My collages range from representational, to the abstract, my view of the world, never realistic, from the whimsical to the metaphorical. The art is multi-layered inviting the viewer to get close and explore the materials integrated into the piece. These bits and pieces I find everywhere, scouring the city streets, flea markets, and antiquarian book stores.

Artist Bio
I have been fortunate to live in Asia and Europe being exposed to a myriad of art works. While living in Richmond UK, I enrolled in a Gallery Studies course for three years. I studied the disciplines in architecture, film,
furniture design and their evolution in conjunction with the arts' movements.
I have made the natural progression from studying art to creating it.
Marrying these two loves, so when I am not painting, I continue to explore galleries, museums and artists studios. I began my training in England taking studio level courses and am refining my craft through classes and workshops in the U.S. I have been attending classes at RISD (Rhode Island School of
Design), The New Art Center in Newton, South Shore Art Center, West Hartford Art League, Creative Arts Workshop/New Haven, CT, Yale University and the British Art Museum
I began showing my work in November 2002 and received several first place awards. Loving the uniqueness and freedom to delve into so many mediums I continue to specialize in collage and mixed media. I submitted and have been accepted in and won awards at juried shows locally and nationally.
My work has been shown at the Donovan Gallery in Tiverton Four Corners, R.I., The Brick Gallery, Essex, CT., zoë & floyd in Seymour, CT, Boston City Hall, The Dillon Gallery in Cohasset, Ma. Currently, my work shows at the Elm City Artists Gallery in New Haven, CT, Celebrations Gallery in Pomfret, CT, and The Gilded Lily in Milford, CT.
I am an elected artist at New Haven Paint and Clay where my work has been exhibited at the John Slade Ely house, and a Gallery Artist with The South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, MA.
My paintings are in private collections in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, Oregon, and Utah. I also have collectors in England, France, Japan and Korea.
