Artist Statement
I originally received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, but shortly after starting my first job in a large New York architectural firm, I returned to school to study architecture. I received a Master of Architecture Degree from Columbia University and worked as an architect beginning in 1972.

Since 2003, I have studied drawing, pastel and watercolor painting at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven and other workshops in the New York and New England areas.

Subject matter has been taken from my excursions to landscape and urban settings and can be divided into several categories: assemblages of structures, which create opportunities for designs of overlapping forms in analogous or alternating colors; candid glimpses of people in urban settings, which create a story for the observer; and emotionally charged landscapes of saturated and sometimes unexpected colors.
