Artist Statement
Things appear to be out of focus. My paintings address the problems of perception, recollection and longing. Recollections and longings never quite align with that which stands before our very eyes. My work embodies both the recollection as well as the misalignment between the original subject and its appearance, whether actual or recalled.

Drawings on the other hand are quite literal. When I draw I seek to be in the presence of myself, the drawing and nothing else.
